Family and Flea Market Find

Hello, all my bloggy friends here in blogger land! How have you all been? I'll have to say, it's CONTINUED to be another hot and dry week here in the Midwest. We haven't gotten rain in several weeks and the weather will be hotter than ever, as the week continues. . .see news article here.  So I guess I will be in one of two places this week, either the lake or an air-conditioned building!!!

The past few days have been quite relaxing, though. We had relatives visiting from Pennsylvania and we all hung out at my aunt and uncle's lake cottage up north.

After some time of relaxing, swimming, boating, eating, and chatting we decided to all go to the
which is only about a 10 minute drive away.
Our caravan of 3 vehicles, parked and prepared to enter the flea market. What an adventure!!
Here, we were coordinating groups and getting each others phone numbers, in case we got lost int this GIANT event.
The flea market was EXTREMELY crowded, as it has been every year!!
Below: Just one of the hundreds of tents, full of goods for sale.

Here is the Vendor Directory
It would literally take ALL day to walk every isle and see every vendor.
I can only handle being there for a few hours. It can be quite overwhelming! But there are lots of unique ideas and creative crafts, as well as great deals.
(Go here to see a map of the Flea Market) Each square is a booth.

Of course, I was on the lookout for teapots and teacups. I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I promised myself that I would only get 1 thing, since I didn't want extra stuff to take home. I found this adorable blue rose teacup and saucer for $8.00.

There are no markings on the bottom of either one, the cup or the saucer.
I have a teapot with blue roses that my mother gave me years ago, but didn't have a matching teacup. The teapot has been boxed in storage because we are in the process of moving, but looking at photos, I think the color and design are the same.
A photo of my teapot is below.

If I may make a suggestion: you should turn off the Word Verification thingy, and you will get lots more comments. Thank you for sharing this with Tea Time and have a delightful day.

  8. Hi,

I saw your cup on The Brambleberry Cottage and had to stop by as I have just this second added to the party a DIY vintage cake stand using old china like this. I love gorgeous old fine china and have a lovely mismatched collection of floral china and love to bring it out when I have girlfriends around for morning tea. It's so much more elegant than a mug.

Hope you get a chance to look at my post on DIY Vintage Cake Stand.

  11. Hey, Chris! I am also following your blog, too! I love it that you are living in Canada, as I have Canadian roots on my father's side. I also think it's cool that you are originally from Wales...I don't know much about the country, but I do know it's part of the UK. Your blog looked intriguing, also! Looking forward to staying connected thru our blogs!

  12. Hello Ann,
Your day out looks fab! I would love to go there too. But just like you, I would only want to be there a little while, especially if it is hot!
It has been super hot here...for a while, and we are hoping for a break.
Your new tea cup is beautiful in blue! Blue roses are alway stunning...and it really does match your tea pot. How lucky is that!
    Hugs,
    And keep cool : )

  13. Hi Ann, I left a comment, but I don't think it saved it. If so, sorry if you have two. It looks like you are having alot of fun trying to stay cool. Hanging out at a Lake House sounds like my kind of fun! Especially with family. I love your cousins flouncy white hat. Your teacup and saucer is darling. How great that it matches your teapot. Can't wait to see it displayed in your home. Best of luck with the move. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
    Hugs,
