Antique Shopping and "Pink Hope" Memories

(I'm linking this post a little late in some of the linky parties, as it has been another very busy week. So, to all you moms I may have missed, Happy Belated Mothers Day!)
Hello again! Hard to believe the weekend is here already! I've had such a busy week, too!

 The fish on our lake have started biting, so my hubby and I have spent a few evenings throwing a line off of our pier and hauling in fish. We also purchased a new pontoon boat. We had been on the search for one for several weeks, now, and are excited to try it out at the end of next week.

Between all the fishing and boat shopping, I did get a chance to stop at my favorite local antique mall!  (Check out their Facebook Page HERE!) I found several pieces, including a teapot and set of 2 teacups with matching plates and saucers.  Not sure who the manufacturer is, since there is nothing on the bottom of any of the pieces. Does anyone have an idea of who made these?


 
When I purchased these sets at the antique mall, they were wrapped adorably in a pink ribbon. I kept this one tied up for a picture. . . just thought it was so pretty.

I also found a teacup that I couldn't resist....it is a design I remember very well, as my mother owned the full china set and would only use them when special guests came for a meal. I discovered it was a Wedgewood (England), "Pink Hope" design.
 Do you remember what your mother's china looked like? (Maybe you were lucky enough to have it as a handed down family heirloom.)

This rose design silverware was a wedding gift from my grandparents 26 years ago.
 I also displayed some Mother's Day gifts from the past.
This rose candle and angel watching over a praying child were from my hubby.
 This angel with flowers was from a friend.
This Dreamcycles angel was a gift from my son.
Just love this simple rose-themed teatime tablescape!
This crocheted table runner was an item I purchased several years ago on a shopping trip to the antiuque mall.
 My two rose trees have several buds and this was one of just a few of the first blooms of the season.

Nautical!!


Today, I'm back to dreaming a little about decorating. You see, there's still a good chance we will be moving to the lake cottage and I would LOVE to decorate using some of my favorite styles. One of my newest favorites is a nautical theme!! 
I love sailboats, anchors, buoys, seashells, netting, starfish, etc!
I've been hopping around the internet and also on Pinterest.  It's also been awhile since I've posted anything "tea" worthy and have missed joining in many of the tea time blog hops. So, I thought I would combine my love of nautical and teatime....unfortunately I don't own any nautical teapots or cups. Maybe someday, but till then, I'm sharing some cute settings, decor, and tea stuff I found around the net!!!


I love nautical colors, especially blue and white, with a touch of bright colors here and there. The table setting and decor above are adorable and it looks like it may be teatime! Perfect!!


Oh, I adore sailboats!! This table above is just so perfect for a sunny lunch or just dessert!

If the weather is nice, sipping on tea on the patio, porch, or deck is so much fun!! Of course, I found another sailboat photo above and a couple of well padded wicker chairs makes the perfect spot!



   Or it would be fun to just have an outdoor party!

I love old photos and have seen several of people taking tea at the beach. I would love to do that someday!! Having a little 'cabana' or shed to keep the sand and wind from getting into the tea would be a wonderful idea, too!

Isn't this teacup perfect for drinking tea on the beach? (Notice that the inside rim says, "Storm in a tea cup." I wonder what kind of tea would make the "perfect storm"?

This teacup would be perfect for having your tea on a boat!!!

This teapot is so original! Looks like they used a real seashell.....wondering if the ocean could be heard in that tea! :)

I've begun collecting several nautical decor items already, but I'm just waiting to find the perfect tea set to share my own tablescape display. Hopefully soon you will be able to see those in a future post!

Connecting through Blog Hops/Social Link-Ups

Hi, all my blog-land peeps!
I have been checking out so many new blogs and wanted to let you know about some things that have helped me along the way. First, I started  by checking out all the blogs I currently am following and checked out who they followed. Low and behold, not only have I come across lots of great new blogs, but I've discovered lots of new blog hops. I also have discovered what appears to be a new way of connecting with all kinds of people, through what bloggers call "social link-ups". These are link-up parties that let you share your other social pages...ie. Facebook, Pinterest, Bloglovin, etc. and then you can follow each other through these, as well as specific blogs.

Today, I discovered and am joining this blog party, hosted by Mommy Huh, called

Each week she shares different social link-ups. This week she shared Bloglovin links. So I decided to join the party. First, I had to claim my blog by posting the link below.

If you haven't joined Bloglovin', it's a pretty great way to find other blogs with similar interests and get their updates.

I also discovered a blog called "Blog Hops Everyday", which allows you to add your own blog hop, if you have one, as well as find more to link with, if you so desire.

I think I may be getting a bit addicted to blog-hopping and blog parties, as you may discover from my list of blog parties I have on my page, aptly named 'Let's Par-tay!' . It is a great way to connect with other bloggers, as well as share your blog (and if you're into getting more followers, it does help. But that's never been my greatest goal).
